Each young person who is on the roll of the academy has a personal learning plan that is written together with the young person, their parents or carers and their mentor. The plan includes a personalised timetable; identifies additional support; sets individual targets for improvement and makes a proposal for next steps and moving on.
Each personal learning plan is different and will depend upon the needs and circumstances of the young person. However the aims are the same: for the young person to make progress socially, emotionally and in their learning so that they are fully equipped to make a successful return to school or a positive transition to college or training.
The personal learning plan is reviewed with the young person and their parents or carers at least once a term.
